Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Also worth remembering these are single-use flywheel bolts, so I’d fit new ones either way.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, Im fitting a TTV light weight flywheel to my M96.01 3.4 and I am trying to find the length of bolt required? The OEM dual mass bolts at M10 x 1.0 x 50. Hoping someone has purchased them previously and save me the time measuring and trying to source some. Thanks, Antony.

POST 2Original post

I’d check with TTV before ordering bolts. The OEM dual-mass bolts are usually M10 x 1.0 x 50, but a lightweight flywheel may need a different length depending on the thickness of the crank mounting face. I wouldn’t assume the standard DMF bolts are right unless TTV specifically say so. Too long and they can bottom out, too short and you lose proper thread engagement. Also worth remembering these are single-use flywheel bolts, so I’d fit new ones either way. Best answer is to get TTV to confirm the bolt length for that exact M96.01 flywheel, then source the correct grade/length from there.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I called TTV this morning and they are very helpful. For the M96.01 TTV flywheel they had a Porsche part number for the bolts: 99907309101 which is a Torque Converter Bolt. For ref the bolt thread length is 25mm.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
