Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So i purchased this 996 Mk1 'Cable' GT3 Throttle body from Ebay, the guy said it would fit my 1998 3.4 'Cable' C2 996, i have since taken it to my garage and they are saying they can not get it to line up. We knew we might have some issues getting it lined up to the standard airbox as the other guys said he had a K&N induction kit installed, but the assumption was it would line up with the air mass etc. Some of the plugs and bits are on the wrong side which we extended to fit. Has anyone ever got this fitted? is it even possible? The original seller is ghosting me

POST 2Original post

Pretty sure to use that you'll have to change the plenum as well, besides a remap etc. A different approach is here, but the general consensus is that it's not worth doing. https://rennlist.com/foru...ttle-body-upgrade.html

POST 3Original post

I think it is possible but for little gain - remember the GT is a completely different engine. I have seen an aftermarket plenum fitted and after dyno it was pretty disappointing. Dare I say it, you're better off asking on other forums. For real gains then you're better off by doing what Porsche do and increase capacity.
