Hey members,
I think I finally saved up for my first Porsche, so I started looking for it. I think
911s
are everyone's dream and so is mine
Found this listing and I'm really leaning towards this one
2015 Porsche 911 Carrera S Coupe
. I just have one question: Do you think this model specific is going to hold up it's value for atleast 5 years? Because while this car is a lot of fun, I would still like for it to be a somewhat of investment. Thank you
Yes, now more than ever, with tariffs on the way. Keep the car maintenance up to date, keep the car pristine as you can. Then recognize that no vehicle is a stock fund, unless you’re a millionaire buying exotic limited production cars you keep in an airplane hanger with less than 4k on the odometer. Enjoy, it, enjoy life, it’s shorter than it feels. PS it’s used but not used up, the first buyer takes the biggest hit on depreciation.
The only way a car would be an investment would be if you bought it new then locked it up in a vault.
And even then it has to be the right car, a new Vega isn’t going to be worth the expense you had storing it. Now one of these? Bank for sure but what fun is sitting in it beeping the horn but not driving it?
Don’t consider a car an investment. You can do better with your money. With tax, insurance, maintenance, and even gas. The car will have to appreciate a lot to make money. Just be happy that you get some value out of it when you are done with it.
I'm happy if the wheels don't fall off before I'm done with it and someone finds it somewhat desirable. Actually I'll probably be glad if I don't have to pay someone to haul it off.
Reminds me of the boat I paid $150K for and 25 years later had to pay $500 to get rid of.
Yep, you're right never bet on a car as an investment. Sure you can always hope that it may hold value. That would be awesome, though I plan to keep my 987.2 for the foreseeable future because I can't afford to
not
enjoy this car. Buy these things for the great machines that they are!
