Hi, the fuse in the alarm module is fine, door lights working when I unlock car via key, my remote doesn’t work btw, the actuator rod is in the open position it‘s not actually broken, I’m thinking maybe is been disconnected by previous owner, hence why I’m starting with the actuator.

I understand to get to it I need to remove the ”Evap” canister, as it collects fuel vapour, is there any precautions I need to take as i will have to disconnect a few vapour tubes a long the way!

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, looking to replace fuel flap actuator if I don’t find any other solutions, ie is there a relay or a fuse? Basically the rod is locked in also I have and issue unlocking the car so thought this maybe the culprit as it’s connected to the central locking. I understand to get to it I need to remove the ”Evap” canister, as it collects fuel vapour, is there any precautions I need to take as i will have to disconnect a few vapour tubes a long the way! any help would be greatly appreciate. Stay safe and well thanks for reading

POST 2Original post

Is the locking actuator actually getting 12v from the alarm module? If not, that's the place to start, especially with all your other alarm and central locking issues. The emergency cable in the door shut should work to release it, but don't be too brutal - they can snap off.

POST 4Original post

I removed the evap canister to get to the manual release cable and locking pin, as Richard states they snap very easily. You cannot get to the actuator without fully removing the canister, i tried to release a few tubes and push out of the way but could not reach passed it. I did it with car on a trolley jack, it is a bit of a fiddle to get it back in as not much room around it, worth taking a photo before removal but ok for a DIY job.
