Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

9 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Porsche Club GB: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My 996 came with only one key and I have purchased a replacement from an OPC. Does anyone know how long it takes to programme the new key at an OPC?

POST 2Original post

I was recently quoted half an hour by independent specialist (Cameron Sports Cars).

POST 3Original post

OPC Hatfield quoted £45 + VAT to programme the key and about 15-20 mins do it while you wait but that was 2 years ago! Here in Western Australia they charge $373 for the head £213 and $220 to programme £126! So bloody expensive[ ]

POST 4Original post

It takes no more than 5 minutes plus the paperwork. But everyone will charge you half an hour plus for labour.

POST 5Original post

Where did you get the key? That's the costly part.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I got the key from OPC Perth but they said that they couldn't programme it for at least two days and, since they are 100 miles away..............

POST 7Original post

You need to get the key from the OPC and get them to program for the warranty as the quality if the keys is so poor. If anyone else programs the key they claim it as faulty programming and void the warranty.

POST 8Original post

Help. I cannot get I to my 986 (2004) . I went on holiday last week and used the keyfob to lock my car. I returned this week and used the button to unlock. It didnt! Since I've owned it I never got a key that worked the drivers door. Now I can't get I !! Can someone tell how to get in? Regards Shaun

POST 9Original post

Maybe you should ask specialists? But yeah, I'd do the same and first ask people on the internet and then started to google things. Maybe this site will help: https://chisw.com/tech-interest ?
