Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm looking to purchase a 2005-2007 997 Carrera (6 speed manual) as a daily driver. I have found a couple of 05's on line with Carfax reports which indicate "transmission removed for repair". These cars have <40k miles and one car had "transmission removed for repair" at 14k miles and again at 20k miles. I also found an owner review on Edmunds which stated his car had an "unreliable transmission" Are there issues with these cars?

POST 3Original post

There is no 997 forum., on the tranny problem, it's a known fact that the third gear synchro goes bad early, specially on early 997 cars, it is less frequent on later cars, it was an issue with the trans. manufacturer supplier (Japanesse tranny).,cheers.
