This is different than telling the TPMS you've changed tires (and when you actually do change tires, you need to do both).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I have a 2007 Carerra4S with factory PCM; I just got the car, but the CD version appears to be the original v2.1 (10/2006). The system often has my location off, by as much as a 1/4mile. When driving within a city or where there are many roads nearby the GPS often shows me 1 or 2 streets over from my exact location. The system then recalculates the route and provides updated (incorrect) driving instructions. This pretty much makes the GPS useless becasue it would have me driving in cirlces, never having my exact location pinpointed. I have not found one post anywhere where someone has the same issue as me. Anyone have any idea what's going on? thanks

POST 2Original post

Try this. Tell the Nav you've had a tire change. This is different than telling the TPMS you've changed tires (and when you actually do change tires, you need to do both). The Nav system uses both the GPS and inertial guidance to calculate your position. The inertial guidance is pretty good. When I pull out of my garage, I don't pick up any satellites for awhile, and the system is still very accurate. But it depends on tire rotation and size to calculate speed and distance, and if this is off, your position could be off. I don't promise this will fix anything, but it's worth a shot. Press Navi, then press set. Choose tire change. Good luck.
