Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Could let me know the production numbers for a 2003 996tt x-50. A good friend of mine owns one and is looking for the production numbers for his 2003 996 x-50?
Porsche built 233 GT2's in 2003 (4322 normal turbo's built in 03)
Serial numbers for 03 GT2's begin with WP0AB299*3S696001 (USA) *This check sum number varies in USA market. No data on how many USA vehicles out of the 233 produced. I suggest it *could* be as high as 50% of the total as that was the avg Porsche production sent to the USA/North American markets. I can't find any data on how many X50 engine upgrades were built in this year or any year. So lets say 115 units imported for arguments sake and of this number would come the special order X50 power upgrade option and who knows how many that was. I know it was very expensive - perhaps out of 115 units - 25 ordered??? I'm guessing.
Serial numbers for engines in these cars (shared with ROW GT2 production) #64320001 and up.
That engine option began in Y2001 and ended in Y 2005. The engine is designated as an M96/70E when engine is upgraded to the X50 standard. I think it ends in "S" instead if it was without X50. The engine used is the same engine as the basic turbo except the X50 has different turbo's, larger intercooler's and a different map program for the DME. It added up to an extra 30-40hp over the standard twin turbo. Power is listed as 450hp @6000rpm without X50 option. He should have an engine code under the front hood of 644. IE. M96/70-644.
I suspect it is a fairly rare car in the USA market for 03, VERY rare for 05. The most rare of all GT2's is the club sport model (CS) I guess if you had the CS *with* the X50 you might have one of perhaps under 100 of all years built. Your friend may also have PCCB's as they were offered by this point and only RWD and NO PSM - what a monster!!!
Production by year (All markets)
2001 - 247 (mk 1)
2002 - 716 (mk2 began)
2003 - 233
2004 - 73
2005 - 18
Total 996 GT2 production = 1287
Hope this helps.
