I would plan on replacing the AOS you just installed with a UAOS when it needs replacement in the future.

I had to replace a broken Slave Cylinder fork on a Ferrari 355 and the dealer wanted obscene amount of money for it.

Looking for the coolant plate that mounts under alternator and goes to coolant T. I broke the fitting. Porsche wants arm and leg. Wondering anyone has an old block laying around that they would part ways with.
I like the fixing it idea mentioned above, epoxy a short piece of metal tubing as an internal union/brace between the two pieces, then epoxy the break itself. Can of corn. Then have cake. (Half Life 2 turret)
If you are planning to upgrade the AOS to a UAOS you can plug the passage in that plate. The UAOS does not require coolant. The UAOS is provided with caps and clamps to eliminate the coolant lines to the AOS.
The failure point of the AOS is the diaphragm inside the housing. The AOS is a maintenance item. Replacement of the AOS is a fairly difficult job with the engine in the car. The UAOS replaces the existing diaphragm with a replaceable heavier duty diaphragm located above the alternator so that diaphragm replacement is a 5 minute job. The UAOS can be had with the track drain back feature which eliminates the danger of sucking oil into the intake if the diaphragm fails. It is a good upgrade for reliability. I would plan on replacing the AOS you just installed with a UAOS when it needs replacement in the future. You can search this forum for UAOS and gets lots of information.
