Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am away to change the rear brake pads on my 996. Europarts has Textar or ATE pads and 28mm or 30mm dampening discs. Which of each should I get? Thanks. I've probably got time to get stuff mail order so other recs welcome.

POST 2Original post

The brake caliper has 2 different sized pistons. 28 mm and 30 mm. So you need one of each for 1 caliper.

POST 4Original post

I was never good in math. Each caliper has 4 pistons. So you need 4 discs per caliper. They have sticky stuff on the back so you might just reuse them.
