Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The drop links should have been replaced when I did the ROW M030, I knew it from looking at them at the time, but never did.

this is a simple job, remove the wheel and use a little jack under the lower knuckle on the control arm just to releave weight...

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have searched around.. but is there anyone who knows of a thread for DYI drop link replacement? most of the threads have lots of talk and too little pictures.. Im a picture learner. ;-)

POST 2Original post

Any of the suspension install/swap DIY's will give you what you need. I't very simple to do the drop links as they simply unbolt and bolt on. The fronts have specific right left pieces but the rears are identicle to each other. I just did mine on all four corners last weekend and they really do just bolt right up. I had the notorious clunk thing happening over speed bumps and the like and knew something was wrong. The drop links should have been replaced when I did the ROW M030, I knew it from looking at them at the time, but never did. The new ones make a huge difference, both fronts had torn boots and lots of slop. The hardest part is getting the thing off the ground and removing the wheels...actually you may not need to remove the wheels to do it, I did because I was cleaning and made a morning project out of my new parts. Don't you just love getting new parts delivered?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I do have to jack it up though huh correct? hmm.. maybe I should order the parts before starting! lol! :-)

POST 4Original post

dont get them at Barrier, they charged me double what Sunset charges... this is a simple job, remove the wheel and use a little jack under the lower knuckle on the control arm just to releave weight... it will take 10-15 minutes tops and you will be rid of that rattle too

POST 6Original post

Make sure you have an 18 mm socket! I did this recently and didn't realize my set didnt come with one. Box wrench was a pain. Todd 99 coupe
