Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

4 of these are 964's and one is a 996 that was subject to a high court case between the owner who spec'd it with a non - experienced sales guy at a Porsche UK dealership who did not know Porsche banned the colour from being used on non-964's.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
45 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

sounds to me like bogtrotter is already having a laugh, no one would want a pink porsche, or a norfolk lilac one for that matter,
doh!

ho ho ho...bogtrotter is not having a laugh..but he may be colour blind!..have just done deal on rs in this colour from jhonny wishbone.what a lad! excelent service as usual.there must be someone else out there who thinks its a cool colour? no more links to opticians guys...!
no, i think its great. you people should be treated with as much respect as the rest of us. say it loud.
plus, it just leaves more rampant totty for us real men.
must be the country air up here ..gay no ..slightly happy yes ...or will be when mr wishbone has preped the car..pink car..blue house..perhaps theres a pattern emerging here.
Both of the Porsche club 964RS secretaries are out at Spa right now, they will have the best idea...wait for them to see this thread in a day or two for a response.
As a guess I would think perhaps 10% of 64RS were in Rubystone, so at least 200 cars.
If it has the mag wheel centres (ie rims left silver) painted rubystone aswell then it looks bloody great - put it this way, no one will not notice you!
Great colour on an RS. Shame the same compliment can't be made of some of the utter Pie & Piston style shite on this thread. Come on guys, answer the question or be original, otherwise don't bother.

The 964RS was the last car that Ferdinand Porsche entirely designed himself; as a clay model by hand and he modelled it in Rubystone Red. This colour apparently represents the love of the creator and is supposed to charge with energy and vitality, so I have been informed... There is a 964rs in Rubystone Red at the Porsche museum, and it features on their line up of icons representing the 964.
There were about 30 RHD originally manufactured - more, but not sure how many LHD. Apparently the numbers have seriously dwindled with people totalling what is a very snappy car, over the years.
There are apparently 5 non-RS 964's in existence. 4 of these are 964's and one is a 996 that was subject to a high court case between the owner who spec'd it with a non - experienced sales guy at a Porsche UK dealership who did not know Porsche banned the colour from being used on non-964's. Porsche lost the battle on the grounds that a written order had been completed and therefore constituted a contract.
A genuine 964RS in Rubystone red, RHD, with a genuine blue-printed engine - which is what it was supplied with - should be knocking on the door of £100k today. Beware of copies.

I think Spec Savers stole your idea.
Or maybe you're in advertising..
An excellent five year old thread.
It gives a great insight as to how PH has evolved, back then lots of drivel written by a few in the clique, from there it became a really worthwhile font of info with plenty of very knowlegeable contribitors, then Haymarket took over and slowly the diehard core started their exodus . . .
Rubystone ? If nothing else, it proves the Germans do have a sense of humour.
P.S I owned the Rubystone RS below, try as hard as I could, I just couldn't carry off driving around in a car of that hue !
I love the colour and the RS that is up for sale at the moment looks stunning IMHO!
Would have one in an instant...
...and no - I'm not a shirt lifter!
Cheers

Sorry to bring up a dead thread but the question I am also quite curious about was never really answered. I have heard the total being around 20-25 Rubystone 964 RS in 2020 remain. Too me that seems quite low. Can anyone else shed some light?
I love the colour.
My old Caterham 7 HPC in Rubystone Red (Pink in the V5). I didn't spec the colour, but it grew on me.
Always split opinion in the car park.

There’s a 964 RS Databse private Facebook group run by a guy called Martin Lawrence who keeps a register
http://www.964rsdatabase.com/database.html
He’s your man. You could either request to join the group, he’s so on the PCGB forums or his contact details are on that website. Once you’ve found out come back and tell us !
I think there are more than 25...based on how often you see pictures pop up. Hope that helps.

Apologies for dredging up a million year old thread but does anyone know what the v5 states colour wise for Rubystone red?
Thanks

Numbers of Rubystone cars in the total production run, split between basic 964 RS, M002 RS Touring and M003 Clubsport - i would have to do more digging to establish how many of those cars were C16 UK cars, i think less than 10 but that’s just by memory.
This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
