But in the process I found these two wires (solid orange and solid black) that were disconnected form I don't know what.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

In removing the old satellite radio boxes and antenna shoved in my console, i followed the antenna wire up to the forward left corner of the footwell (and subsequently couldn't see where it was attached). But in the process I found these two wires (solid orange and solid black) that were disconnected form I don't know what. Anyone have any idea? Also, I found one of my dash tweeters had broken off and was shoved under the fuses... and yet another item to add to the 'to-do' list...

POST 2Original post

Pull the screw in the dead padal, pull carpet back and trace the wires. They r not factory and should be removed where they r tapped in. Most likely old radar detector stuff.

POST 3Original post

It looks a bit big for it, but maybe a microphone for your head unit?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It looks like a tweeter to me that came unglued. I don't think this old Kenwood had any sort of microphone.

Yeh, it might be radar. The K90 or whatever it's called, is in the car and functional (though I've turned it of cause it's over sensitive). I'll see how far back I can trace it. The darn satellite antenna is way up in the front corner and is tightly attached somewhere. I can't imagine they removed the entire dash to attach the antenna.

POST 6Original post

They might have used the holes behind the cluster for access. That pod is pretty easy to remove.

Which pod do you mean? I just tried to remove the speaker grill from the top of dash. Took out both screws, and can NOT get the grill off. I can hardly even get a very flat flat head in trrying to prry it up. And don't want to destroy the dash in doing so... Removed dead pedal, and the wires do come around from a wrapped set that lead to (i think) the **** thatt controls the radar. But I'l have to remove that footwell panel that is attachde to the lower center console. A red/black pair continue in deeper past the fuse box, but there is a single red that is wired into the fuse box - could that be for the radar?

Make sure you're lifting at the side of the grill with the tweeter. There is a metal retaining clip on the woofer side. Lift up at the tweeter and then pull in the tweeter's direction to free the grill from the dash. There is probably a video on Youtube that would explain it better.

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes, I managed to eventually get it out. Even lifting from tweeter side, it was really hard to pry up. And guess what. Tweeter missing from enclosure (as expected) AND speaker wire connector disconnected from speakers. Turns out both of them, I pulled other side too, and that side tweeter is not in there also, so suspect it's down by airbag or something) and speaker connector not connected. I guess the kendwood only supported front and rear. When I put back in the 210, I really hope the amp is still connected to all the speakers so I don't have to play wire detective.... And speaking of which, I had to open the trunk, and remove that plastic cover on drive side (pain in the butt) and then follow the Satelitte wire up and under the center rain cover and pry the antenna mount off ... what a pain. But satalite is now gone. But still don't know what those two Orange and Black wires do. arg.
