Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Over the winter I've just upgraded my TT to 350mm front discs and popped in new pads, new retaintaing clips (OE match D911) etc. Went out for a run in the car and there was a grinding noise, and a little scoring on the inside if the wheel. Took the wheel off and reseated the pads, clips back on etc and the same has happened again. Any thoughts? I used a spacer for my caliper, I'm thinking the spring clips? Or is it something else? TIA

POST 2Original post

Gently turn the wheel with it jacked up , you should be able to see what's fouling. It should be fairly obvious as it'll line up with the scoring on hte wheel you mention..or am I missing something?

POST 3Original post

Disc shields slightly bent and now touching disc?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Its on both sides. Just been out and jacked it up again, seems like one of the pads has moved and its the top of the weights that scoring it. Any idea why they are moving like this?

POST 6Original post

It must be the fact you've put spacers on and they're not compatible with your wheels. They're too far out. Take a photo

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the replys. Pins we in...... I've just removed the pads again, and cross referenced the P/N, and they are rears...... I bought them two years ago, and I've looked at the box and they say fronts..... Didnt think of checking them, word to wise, check. New fronts ordered, hopefully this will sort..... Feel like an idiot, but the box does have C on them, but the pad D!

POST 8Original post

Not your fault. What a pain but you got there. Is the scoring on your wheels bad?

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Not too bad. One side is worse than the other, but only surface.
