Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

Apparently, they use reverse engineering to make their molds and therefore, their products don't fit properly as many many people have reported here on RL over the years.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have been searching/learning about OEM and aftermarket GT3 style side skirts for my 99 C4 . Part of that search came across these Duraflex sold through Walmart . Duraflex are sold through many automotive websites but I was surprised by the Walmart link . They are very attractive in price . Thoughts ? https://www.walmart.com/ip/1999-2004-Porsche-911-Carrera-996-Duraflex-GT-3-Look-Side-Skirts-Rocker-Panels-non-turbo-2-Piece/710162218?adid=0i01eis2wr4v9yg9ldcf1&veh=eml&cn=TRG-EML-BIS-E-NA-NA-PushandEmailGlassFlow-REC-02-NA-NA-L-N

POST 2Original post

Duraflex is very soft, may as well make them out of cardboard.

POST 3Original post

Dont do it. Theyll actually cost you more (than stock Porsche) in the long run, as the fit and finish are horrible. I bought them for $175 Ea. Figuring they wouldnt be too difficult to fit, as I have decent fiberglass/auto body skills. I already have about 4 hrs. Into the drivers side, and its not even close to fitting properly ymmv

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah I figured at that price point there was a catch . Thanks guys

Avoid any Duraflex products. Apparently, they use reverse engineering to make their molds and therefore, their products don't fit properly as many many people have reported here on RL over the years. My advice, bite the bullet and order the OEM side skirts for the Mk1 996 from Suncoast Porsche. https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/996G1SS.html

POST 6Original post

Had a floor jack issue and lost my driver side skirt in December. I was able to order one of 3 left in the system from Germany. There could be more now but if you are serious, I would not wait.
