In my view the throw is still too short with the extension, but I want to use both.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, this morning I fitted a short shift kit and was wondering if anyone had fitted a better gear knob on the ssk? The original one is battered and I must admit that I like the idea of having a bare metal lever as opposed to the saggy leather cover? Cheers, Stu..

I just removed the boot from my old knob and fitted that. Car is stripped track rat spec so might not work so well for your use.

Who’s is that gear knob? Built by Basil?

POST 8Original post

As per Skoosh, a second vote for the Rennline alloy item, it is indeed cold in the winter but it warms up, looks good, feels right in your hand and has a nice weight to it. https://www.rennline.com/rennline-aluminum-shift-knob-sku-i14-1/

100% agree, feels very well weighted and improved the gear change feel too.

How's the throw with that..? Looks mega... assume knob, stop ring and extension..?

POST 14Original post

Aye, that's it. It's actually the only one I can use at the moment because my throw is comically short as I've got an SSK on a GT box. I need to extend the throw when I get the car back and test it. In my view the throw is still too short with the extension, but I want to use both. I've got a function first white stick and a standard one to try out.
