Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I realise that tyre technology has changed dramatically since my car was made in 2024 so that there may be outliers which are now approved but were not made in 2024

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I can find new Contimnental 225 tyres for the front but rear 285 tyres seem to impossible to find. I have been told that production in the 285 size has stopped....is that the case? If so is the 295 size suitable? Pirellis are also difficult to find in these sizes no date has been given for the production of the 285 size. What are peopled buying as Porsche approved replacements? I realise that tyre technology has changed dramatically since my car was made in 2024 so that there may be outliers which are now approved but were not made in 2024 Stuart

POST 3Original post

+1 on what @Dovoda75 said, probably best to go with .1 smaller rear tyre. If you are looking at SC7 on a 996, you'll be happy with them.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you for your help. In the meantime I have found Pirelli Rosso N4s in the 225 size and managed to reserve two 285s from Porsche Reading. Evidently there is a small batch of the 285 size being manufactured with delivery anticipated in May. So if anyone else is having this problem...there is a solution.

POST 5Original post

I've just ordered a set of Michelin PS2 N3 for my 1998 C2. £652 including delivery from Black Circles. These are the .1 sizes, so 265/35 rears. MC

POST 6Original post

no one willing to try these bad boys? Same ratings as Michelin Cross Climate 3's but a fraction of the cost..... what could possibly go wrong?
