Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi ladies & gents, Looking for info on Sport Classic II split rim alloy wheels - I need to source and replace some of the Titanium bolts which secure the inner 'hub to the outer 'rim' of the wheel. Any info would be most appreciated. Also what wheel offsets if any, and tyre dimensions would members recommend with this wheel on a 2001 C4 996.1 (7.5J fr 10J rear)

POST 2Original post

I can partially answer, as I have these wheels on my 996 2000 C2, aka ‘Carerra’. Mine were specified from original spec, which is option code: XRB = 18" sport classic II wheel. You see this style rim available on the later 993 also but in different offsets. Mine are : Front, 8J x 18 ET 50 Rear, 10J x 18 ET 65 The width of mine match yours of 7.5J and 10J but I have seen in the manual that 8J is also allowed on the front: Front, 8J x 18 H2 offset 50/52mm Tyres: front tyres on 7.5J x 18, 225/40ZR18 rear tyres on 10J x 18, 265/35ZR18 or 285/30ZR18 (believe I mostly see this rear size on the 3.6 litre but suspension components are the same). In terms of tyre size I have only mentioned the official specs, as of course people have their own preferences about fitting different sizes. I stick with Porsche specs as I believe they did their research. Apologies I cannot help with the bolts. A good place to ask may be Chris at Exel Wheels. If you search you will find great pics of their work on their Facebook page as well as their website, so i’m sure he would know a bit about the bolts. I also recall seeing someone write on this forum about refurbishing their split rims so worth digging deeper in here too. They posted good pics on their process if I recall correctly. J

POST 3Original post

I also have the same wheels on my 1999C4 cant help you with the bolts , but the last time I had them refurbished the firm told me that they had been done before and some of the bolts had been broken and glued back in place ! Tyre size as per previous reply front 225 x 40 but on the rear it’s always had 285 x 30 rear wheels 10j 65 fronts 7.5j 50 75 PNO

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
