Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

All this talk of k&n filters and induction noise. Just remove the strip of carpet that covers the strut tops. What an aural delight. And it's free

POST 2Original post

I might just try that before I fit the K&N I have just bought

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Honestly, ive been adjusting my suspension so left it out for now and it sounds epic. Sounds a lot like an aircooled one weirdly. You get the flat six noise. Im now thinking of carpet with all the foam removed so it.looks stock but lets more engine noise be heard.

POST 4Original post

Interesting! Have you tried it at motorway cruising speeds to see if it drones at all? I think I may need to give this a try myself...

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Unfortunately there are no motorways here but have held 70ish for a while and no drone at all. Its only on throttle it is more musical. Its a 2 second job to remove carpet panel so worth a try. I folded rear seats down to get to it and left them down.

!!! [/quote] ??? My smiley game is weak

POST 8Original post

Hey bud, It's a really good tip from Parsley, I did that when I had the C2 (plus seats removal). No drone just better/louder intake noise when opening the throttle. As Parsley said it's a two-second job. Give it a try :thumb:

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes it sounds so much better. Im going to trt a grey carpet with no sound deadening to see if it looks stock but still had the music.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

That would explain the GT3 intake noise being louder in the cabin. Obviously the GT3 has more intake noise but removing the carpet narrows the gap somewhat.

Did you ever get round to doing this? Wondering how it looks as I'm debating a rear brace but wouldn't want the whole bit exposed

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I left it out and have not got around to cutting foam out and refitting the carpet. I totally forgot to be honest. Ive been engrossed with brakes and steering upgrades recently. Thank you sir for the reminder, I shall get on this during the week.
