I was just browsing the Design911 web site, and they have the CDC3 Changes for £150, plus VAT presumably.

I've tried to decode the options for my car using the Rennlist decoder.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've tried to decode the options for my car using the Rennlist decoder. However there are a few which aren't listed. Any clues about the following?
XRL
236
288
689
695
I'm hoping one of them is CD multichanger pre-wiring.
Not sure about XRL and 236 without further research, but the PET shows:
288 - Headlamp Washer
689 - Preparation for CD Changer
695 - CD-Radio CDR-22
You are in luck! Should have the bracket and cable in place.
XRL - 18" Sport Design Wheels
236 - 18" Tyres
Oh, and if you don't have the On-Board Computer, I know a guy down the road from you in Wallingford who can activate it for £100 - see www.wrightune.co.uk
I should have guessed about the wheels! It has an OBC already thanks, although I think the button on the dash makes far more sense than the column stalk. I miss having cruise control though. Tony's hardwiring my RoadAngel in next week in fact.
Now, anyone know where I can get a CDC-3 other than by spending a gazillion quid at Reading or bidding in Euros on eBay?

Look in the Used Porsche Parts section.

What year is your car? If it is a facelift model with fly-by-wire throttle (e-gas to the Americans) then I think cruise control can be retro-fitted relatively easily. There are a few threads on this subject at www.renntech.org
Richard
It's a 2001X pre-facelift car so AFAIK it's fly-by-wire (I thought e-gas was a Yorkshire expression!). Will have a look at Renntech although, it'll probably be ££££ to do it properly.
John
If it's a 3.4 then it is a cable throttle, and the retrofit is complicated and expensive. 3.6 engines with electronic throttle can be retrofitted with cruise relatively cheaply. There is a Renntech thread on how to do it on a Boxster, and a chap from somewhere in the UK did a splendid write-up. Cost him about £90 in parts to do the cruise and OBC retrofit combined.
No, John, it's me who sits/stands corrected. You are right - apparently all C4's are FBW throttle, I have just found out. I'll make some more enquiries about the cruise retrofit.
BTW, in Yorkshire it's probably e-by-gas!
Hi John
I have done a bit of digging, and it looks like it would be possible to retrofit the cruise relatively easily. It involves fitting a new 4-lever switch stalk, connecting it up to the DME, instrument cluster, and fuse box, and then activating it with a PST2.
I have spoken to Tony, and he will work out what it costs, so you can decide if it's worth doing.
I am at the point of giving up as I didn't get much response from an OPC I phoned

My 1998 C2 has option 014 which I found from the PET CD is 'Sports Package 996' so what does this consist of ?, the other options on the sticker decode as Sports Suspension, Sports Seats, TC, LSD, etc; but what does the 014 actually refer to, does anybody know ?
Thanks
Mark
thanks Mik, that what i was looking for!!
does anyone know of the two which i haven't found? i think one could be park assist?
XX1 Embroidered Floor Mats (requires leather interior trim)
226?
411 Licence bracket, front
425 Rear wiper
446 996: Coloured Wheel Crests
567 Windshield green graduated tint
635?
936 Leather seats rear
981 All leather lining
983 Leather seats front (NOT REAR)
985 Parts silver coloured
09991 manufacture from the exclusive-programme
M635 is Park Assist
M226 is not listed on my version of the PET.
Is the car UK spec? I ask because M225 is shown as "Version for Belgium", and you might have misread the 6 for a 5.
All this options decode activity has got me curious. I looked up the listing in my service books. All ok for the 996, but two unknown for my Boxster S (012 and 584).
Any ideas?
Cheers for now,
Adrian Tillin
tried this one for you and noticed Adrian Streather had something to do with it

Not teaching you to suck eggs but...........you are

That could be it. I quickly looked through the PET, and could only find option code IXMA - Rooflining in Leather. Leatherette was standard on early models and Alcantara is shown as an alternative material, along with leather, but there doesn't seem to be an option code for it. The US order guide shows Alcantara as standard for the roof lining (MY2004), so it may be have been standard here (hence no option code in the PET). M226 might well be the build code.
This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
