Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • PistonHeads: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, Here is a 2-part video. The first part is a strange noise occurred while I was driving. Until then I've had no issues with the car. A few minutes later the car stalled while I was driving and I lost power-steering etc and free-wheels to a safe place. The second part of the video is when the AA mechanic attempts to start the car but it makes a noise and stalls. https://youtube.com/shorts/rSb-Op0OYwk My fear is IMS or timing chain. It will be booked in for diagnosis but because it's so close to Christmas I won't get booked in anytime soon so I thought I'd try to get an idea from others while I wait.

Failing Crank position sensor can leave no codes and make it sound like that, failed coil pack, was it damp out? Loads of things. I wouldn't panic just yet. Edited by Ed.Neumann on Tuesday 16th December 00:00
