Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi there, i have recently got a 2001 996 turbo, it has PCM however a couple of questions ref this, Is it possible to get it unlocked to accept another sim apart from 02 or voda ?? secondly, with the phone, if you phone a traffic report for example it will ask you to enter a `motorway number ` how ?????

POST 2Original post

As far as I'm aware PCM1 was O2 and Vodaphone only..PCM became orange also. No idea on the second question ..sorry garyw

POST 3Original post

Not many vendors produced fixed car phones. There were only 3 suppliers I think (inc. Siemens who I would guess Porsche might use). Only one of these, as far as I know, was dual band (Motorola). This means that if the phone you haveonly works on VF and O2, then it is a single band unit (900). It is therefore not a locking issue, so no amount of codes will help you. The only soution would be to replace the unit (a black box located somewhere in the car - which is worth about £100 but they will charge you quite few times more than this for it).

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
