They did a full inspection 111 point and a spark plug service so major and replaced the perfectly good but aged tyres.

As long as it comes with a decent used warranty, and they are willing to extend it, I wouldn't be in the slightest worried.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Currently looking to buy a 718 Cayman GTS (2.5). Have seen one at a main dealer that ticks most of the boxes, but has the following service history.
The 3rd service was carried out quite late. Not ideal but not sure if it's a big enough issue to not consider the car, especially as so few pre-GPF GTS come up for sale. Interested in other peoples thoughts.
From an official Porsche dealer? As long as it comes with a decent used warranty, and they are willing to extend it, I wouldn't be in the slightest worried.

Same for me
I'd want to see the service book stamps. It may well have had a service done by an Indie which wouldn't necessarily show on the PPN system unless they are registered with Porsche. If the OPC brought it in to stock in March then they would have had to re-do the service to bring it in to the Porsche EW requirements to be able to put a 2 year warranty on it.

Isn t it a year late rather than a month late?
Yes, it was 10 months or 12 months late depending on whether you compare to 1st or 2nd service.
It is from an OPC though, so would come with full warranty. I don't really feel overly concerned there will be any issue with the car, just don't want a ball-ache when I come to move the car on myself.
When I queried it, they did say there was believed to be a specialist service in 2024, but there is no paperwork to back that up and they can provide no further details, so not much use.
I'd tread carefully. The Porsche Approved Warranty Policy states:
“What is not covered? …
2. A claim made under Your Policy for the repair or replacement of a defective system or component shall be invalid to
the extent that the defect results from any of the following: …
b) Your Vehicle has previously been repaired, maintained, or serviced in a way other than in accordance with the
manufacturer’s standards, as defined in the ‘Guarantee and Maintenance’ booklet and the owner’s manual; or
c) Service, repair, or maintenance has previously been performed on the Vehicle by you or a third party who is not
an authorised Porsche Centre/Porsche Service Centre; or”
I appreciate you're buying from a main dealer so there should be no issues but it's not a bun fight I'd wish to ever have, even if I won in the end.
The 111 point check would bring it back into Porsche Extended warranty requirements (including servicing) so the extended warranty would be fully valid going forward.
I'd as your sales guy if they can get in touch with the previous owner to see if they can tell you if it had a service in 2024 and by whom. When you have that info, contact the Indie and ask if the info is correct. If it is, and you buy the car, I'd ask the Indie to stamp the service book or provide you with an invoice of the work completed.

This is what I hate about some dealers/sales people.
Say any b
ksxx to sell a car.

+718 They just want to make the sale and if you’re left holding bag in the future they won’t give a stuff.
If the car is very special for you in the way of spec/price/location then maybe the donkey work and difficult-to-quantify extra risk is worth it. But if it’s just another 718 2.5 GTS then perhaps walk away.

Serviced 10 months late with a low miles / annum rate. Meh. Get an email from Porsche customer service stating that it won't invalidate current or future extended warranty. Buy car.

Yep, with that few miles, as long as they are prepared to put things in writing I’d go for it.

Scrounger has covered it off. The 111-point inspection and OPC service qualifies for the 2yr OPC extended warranty so the fact it was late for a service before that is immaterial, especially if you're going to keep it serviced by OPC. It's a no brainer if it's the right spec and the right price and it's being sold and warrantied by an OPC buy the car. Just hope that when you come to sell it a few years down the line a 993 owner doesn't come to view it as they worry about a car that's missed a service over 20yrs ago despite being service annually ever since
OP - similar situation when I bought my car from OPC.
I rang a guy I knew at a well-respected indie to ask the hypotheticals of "if I was selling this car to you with this gap in service history" and was essentially told not to worry about it as they see this thing all the time.
If the service on 19/5/22 was a major, then car will be due another major spark plug service in May 2026. I would try to get that future service included in the deal as it's only 5 months away. They should really offer that pro-actively - if you brought that car in to an OPC today to trade-in, pretty sure they would dock you some value due to that service requirement in May.

Apparently the service this year was a major - but I will get back down there and get this all confirmed.
I actually bought a 718 Spyder with the 2nd service being over a year late albeit with low miles in between services. It came from an OPC who gave it the full 2 years extended warranty and I have had a few niggles sorted under warranty by another OPC dealer, so all good.
Porsche causing problems is secondary to buyers being picky when you try to move the car on. Hence why I suggested getting Porsche to confirm by email that there will be no warranty issues.
Porsche buyers are the most pernickety I’ve ever come across, when it comes to service history.

And spec
And mileage
And number of owners
And absolutely anything and everything it is even remotely possible to be pernickety over
And unfortunately it means everyone else is
Because look now we are
We're being pernickety because we think future buyers might be pernickety
And so it's a self fulfilling prophecy or whatever it's called where the thought of people being pernickety makes you mimic them and so be pernickety

I don't like pernickety
And I get annoyed reading pernickety comments especially on ads like CC in the comments
But the way its breeding more pernickety people is sad

This is it in a nutshell
For the most part, Porsche buyers are less interested in the actual car and more interested in resale. The OP is buying a car from an OPC, with a FPSH and a warranty, yet they're worried about a service that wasn't bang on the 2 years, because it might affect the resale experience. What about the actual service? What was changed? Spark plugs, PADM, Clutch? That's what's important, not how long it took to get done.
Honestly, go and see the car, take it for a test drive. If you like it after that, continue to service it at an OPC and enjoy the thing. Cars are for driving; resale will take care of itself.
I'll say this, though, the 2.5 GTS with a sports exhaust is one of the all-time greats - if it is a MY18 pre OPF, they're great. My neighbour bought his in 2018 brand new for £50k or so - it is still worth £40/45k today. Great cars.
I had a similar dilemma with a cayman 4.0 gts
A 2020 car left Solihull to an elderly owner who did 5k in the first 18 months then fell ill and subsequently died shortly after .Car hadn't been serviced and was not mot'd 2024 or 2025
Until opc porsche bought the car from the deceased estate. They did a full inspection 111 point and a spark plug service so major and replaced the perfectly good but aged tyres. This subsequently brought back inline with opc warranty 2 years.
Did it put me off well at first yes but on seeing the car, the condition and the report I bought it.
I bought a 911 with a missing service interval - so a 4 year gap between services. But the car had only done a couple of thousand miles in those 4 years and the service would have been due during Covid - which is why it was missed. It has the Porsche warranty....
Were I to sell the car I guess it might put someone off - but it didn't bother me.

A panickety person or a person well educated in how a pernickety person might behave WILL DEFINITELY make a massive deal out of this none issue when you come to sell
Because that is the very nature of being pernickety

To close the circle on this, I will report that I didn't buy the car. One of the straws that broke the back the camels back was that during the last Major service at an OPC, it appears that the spark plugs hadn't been changed. Ultimately though, the cars condition wasn't quite good enough when I looked closer.
I have ended up buying a car, with equally imperfect history, but from a specialist, and the key thing is, the car is in much better condition.

I have seen a million Porsches like that. Unless you get the “this feels right” sensation the answer is no.
