I know there are a lot of threads about central locking and key fob issues, having read through them all I don't think they are the same as this issue but please forgive if I have missed something. 1999 C2 The issue is: When I get out of the car and close the door the central locking operates without me pressing the fob. If I immediately try to unlock with the fob it does not work (red light on key and dash do work) If I return 30 min later the car unlocks on the fob. It will unlock immediately on the key Battery in the fob has been replaced Fob reset has been carried out There is no dampness under the passenger seat. My logic at the moment is: Fob is working because the dashboard light shows when the fob is operated? Microswitches wouldn't cause the central locking to operate, normally on failure they prevent locking? That leaves the central locking module? Any thoughts gratefully recieved Neil

Sounds like the alarm ECU under the passenger seat is playing up. I'd remove the cover on it and have a look inside.

Don't ask me if its safe to disconnect it or not. May trigger the alarm. If you're gonna unplug it, I'd disconnect the battery first with the ignition on to prevent the alarm going off. If you do disconnect it, check the pins and socket are nice and clean.
