Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. The tyres fitted on the car have 6/7 millimetres of tread but due to their age (over 7 years old) have become very hard and noisy(SO2A front and SO2s on the rear).

Apart from restoring the hood, leather and paintwork, I’ve replaced both front radiators, treated it to a new Milltek Cup System and led interior/ exterior bulbs.

The last time all my tyres were replaced was in March 2016 with Pirelli Rosso N4s as these were the only tyres available at the time anywhere in the UK!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Good morning guys
After purchasing my 996 C4s Cabriolet approx 6 weeks ago I set aside money for the jobs that would need doing in the future.
Apart from restoring the hood, leather and paintwork, I’ve replaced both front radiators, treated it to a new Milltek Cup System and led interior/ exterior bulbs.
My next job is to have the alloys refurbished and new tyres all round and this is where I need your advice!!!!!!!!!!!
The wheel refurb is a no brainer, as Wheeltec in Plymouth have restored all my other alloys to a very high standard.
The tyres fitted on the car have 6/7 millimetres of tread but due to their age (over 7 years old) have become very hard and noisy(SO2A front and SO2s on the rear).
The previous lady owner had only covered 2000 miles since replacing them in 2012 and they are starting to crack between the tread due to age.
My R32 and S2000 both have Michelin Pilot 4s and they have transformed both cars.
But as previously mentioned on here you can only get them for the fronts on my car, but all four in PS2 spec.
My question is how much better are the PS4s and if so is there any other tyre that would do a better job?
Hi,
Mine was treated to new tyres recently and I went for Continental Sport Contacts and find them really good. Supplied and fitted by my OPC too..
They too had loads of tread left but were old so definitely needed changing.
The last time all my tyres were replaced was in March 2016 with Pirelli Rosso N4s as these were the only tyres available at the time anywhere in the UK! I was looking for Michelin but the only all matching set was in Germany and 5 years old![
] Eventually Cambridge OPC found the Pirelli ones for me direct from them. Its now time to replace the rear ones, the fronts are hardly worn, and again have been looking for Michelins, however there are none available in Australia anywhere the only ones would be Pirelli Rosso N4 at a price of $685 each (£396 ea) fitted etc. Bloody expensive! I have found a wholesaler who thinks he can get me the Michelins but will need a couple of months to obtain them as they are batch made regardless of make only occasionally. These will cost $500 (£289 ea).
Hopefully he can get them or else it will have to be the Pirelli again[
]
You have D911ARK, but we’re talking about the PS4 not being available.
I am about to order PS2s all round for the car.
How do you find them handling wise and are they quiet on the road??
Apologies, I misread the post, my bad
I love them. Have posted on here before about how I prefer the quieter noise over Pirelli too
Handling wise, don't feel I've ever taken a tyre to its limits to know much difference tbf
Mark
Just to let you guys know that even though I’m in the motor trade I actually bought my tyres from a Supermarket??
i know, I didn’t believe it either.
There being delivered to me tomorrow for £598 for all four.
Over £60 less than I can buy them trade, unbelievable .
I don’t need them fitted as Wheeltec are fitting them for me after they refurbish and powder coat my alloys.
so a very happy boy.
The price was for Michelin Pilot Sport 2s all round.
Size 295/30 R18 rear and 225/40 R18 front.
