Today I replaced the tranny oil in hopes that the shifting would improve, but I'm not sure it helped.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I bought a 2002 six speed Boxster S last November, and have been enjoying the heck out of it. My prior car was a 2005 MR2, which was a blast to drive but woefully underpowered [hence my first Porsche....]. The 986 check out well on PPI, but had a minor persistent oil leak, after awhile developed stiff shifting. Today I replaced the tranny oil in hopes that the shifting would improve, but I'm not sure it helped. I'm hoping I don't need a tranny rebuild, but we will see.
