Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all just wondered what your opinion is on the annual subscription to activate the standard tracker? I must admit I have not looked in any detail but my understanding is there is a £250 annual fee to enable it. Given that this is almost as much as my insurance do you think it is worthwhile? Thanks in advance

POST 2Original post

My 4S had a Tracker Monitor fitted when I purchased it & upon transfer I had the option to pay a yearly fee or a 'one-time' fee for not much more which I duly accepted. Not knowing about all the specialist insurers at the time, I insured it with Direct Line & it was a term of the insurance to have a tracker fitted..... So to fit or not may well be down to requirements of Underwriters not personal choice.....

POST 3Original post

If you are thinking of the Porsche VTS, they weren't fitted to 996s. It was introduced with the 987/997.

POST 4Original post

Same for me. Needed for the insurance and had to show proof. Didn’t save anything on the insurance cost.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Oh ok a one off payment sounds more reasonable depending on how much it is obviously. Does it utilise the sim car in the pcm2 as I dont currently have one in?

POST 6Original post

Not sure if a 'one-off' payment is still an option.... I have a sim slot & have used it with a PAYG but have no idea if it is linked to the tracker! I thought it was installed & attached to a live feed with a back up battery that would last approx. 30 days if car battery was disconnected...… I always notify them when travelling to Europe in case movement is detected without ignition on & they have tested it when asked.... hth Paul

POST 7Original post
