the car has electric front windows - no problems for many years then last year the stopped working and i changed the fuse and that fixed it - same problem again but now the replacement fuse blows as soon as fuse is put in

911 996 Targa 2002 the car has electric front windows - no problems for many years then last year the stopped working and i changed the fuse and that fixed it - same problem again but now the replacement fuse blows as soon as fuse is put in (it is normal for the power windows remain live for a couple of hours even after the key is removed) windows are now stuck open - luckily just an inch two questions 1 any ideas where the short might be ? 2 any way to close the windows - by override or mechanically ? thanks

it was combination of water from broken liner and wear on the cables fixed by precision porsche - highly recommended
