Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

To sort that out seems like i either need to adjust the suspension with new springs and shocks or change wheels.

I dont like the "jacked-up" front look as the rear's fill more of the wheel well than the fronts.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello,
My C4S came with 235/35R19 and 305/30R19 tires. Personally i prefer 18" tires but not sure it bothers me enough to purchase new wheels. However i am concerned with the effects of those tire sizes on the AWD transmission as the rear tires are 26.2" in diameter compared to the fronts which are 25.5" in diameter. Will this difference cause premature wear to the AWD system of the car? The standard tires for this car are 225/40R18 and 295/30R18 which are 25.1" and 25" in diameter so nearly the same size.
I too have a C4S and to your point, the tire sizes front to rear should be the same. .1 or .2 inches shouldnt make a difference but I have been told that the fronts should be the slightly larger of the sizes. Check Tirerack as they have recommended sizes for +1 fitments.
I don't think it is going to be as big a problem for the VC AWD system in the 996 as it would be for a newer AWD system like haldex. But it still can't be good. If it was my car I would seek out some used OEM wheels and stock tire sizes.
I dont like the "jacked-up" front look as the rear's fill more of the wheel well than the fronts. To sort that out seems like i either need to adjust the suspension with new springs and shocks or change wheels. I am going to look at some 18" Apex wheels. Seems like the most rational approach. Gets me back to stock tires, better ride, better stance and better for the AWD system.
Ooops....digging through old receipts, it looks like the original owner of my car ran at some point ran 255/35/19 (26") up front and 315/25/19 (25.2") in the rear. Another time the fronts were replaced with 235/35/19 (25.5"). Hope the diff is okay. It was like this for ~12 years and 50k miles.
SM-10s are pretty sweet. Maybe this thread or @cwbrown can sway you:
