Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

For starters folks, thank you for providing such a fine 986 resource! I have had this ever so gently used 986S (38K miles) in my clutches for six months now. After two months and lots of fun, the check engine light came on with codes P1128 and P1130 but it ran fine at first. Then the high RPM power dropped and the idle got rough. I reset the CEL a few times, but each time I did, it ran lean for 5 to 10 minutes before the ECU adapted. Beyond that, the CEL would come on ranging from 100 miles to 400 miles. At that point, I checked for vacuum and oil (visual) leaks along with a smoke and propane test... no leaks. I replaced the AMM and reset the ECU roughly 900 miles ago, over that time, the CEL has not come on and the idle eventually settled down to Porsche perfection. After reading countless posts about P1128 and P1130 and their causes, I thought it would be in order to post a verified solution along with the problems and cause! Once again, Thanks!
