Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

If Porsche only sells 3000 or so 911's in the US per year, if I assume 10% of those are in the Pacific Northwest (300 units) that means in a 10 year period (3000 units sold) at 500 cars/year repaired by this shop that means either eventually every 911 in our region will be in that shop, or that there are some truly awful 911 drivers - who have accidents over and over again.

By the way, in their presentation they showed how newer 911s have high strength steel surrounding the passengers while extensive use of aluminum elsewhere - which makes repairing these cars very complex.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Our local Pacific Northwest Region PCA club organized a visit this past Saturday to Queen City Auto Rebuild - the only Porsche certified body shop in the state of Washington. There were a half dozen 911's and one Cayenne (and a 914) in there for work. The owner mentioned that they do 40-50 Porsches/month in that shop. I did some quick math. I know I'm a bit "loose" with my math as I was only referencing 911s and they do sell other models (whose numbers dwarf the 911 sales). But in a very general way, interesting numbers to look at. By the way, in their presentation they showed how newer 911s have high strength steel surrounding the passengers while extensive use of aluminum elsewhere - which makes repairing these cars very complex. This shop has to be re-certified every year. Also, Porsche will not sell certain body parts to just "any body shop". Only to certified ones.

This is reality and will be the norm on just about every car in the future. So many manufacturers using aluminum, CF, high strength steel, special one time panel adhesives, etc.

POST 3Original post

Reviving an old thread but I am taking my 2017 911 in to them for an estimate soon. Electric hedge trimmer fell off the garage wall and put a small dent and some pain chips in the left rear quarter panel. Expen$ive mi$take no doubt.

POST 4Original post

Visit to Queen City went great. I got an estimate within a few hours and scheduled the work for early April. Only downside is the wait time but no biggie for me as the repairs I needed are minor. I also tried Laury's which is the other certified Porsche repair place and had a strange experience. I went there and the guy came out and wrote up the car no problem, and then nothing. I emailed to ask about the estimate and got zero response. I don't want to diss them but not sure what was up. I feel 100% better with Queen City.
