Today I was replacing halogen bulbs with LEDs on the H11 high beam on my Cayman with Xenon headlights and also replacing the H7 bulbs on the Boxster with some better ones. I noticed all the extra wiring in the housing for the Cayman compared to the Boxster. Also, appeared to be a ballast and a transformer, but not sure. I know that Xenon bulbs require higher voltages, etc, so my question is this: Is all the circuitry and wiring necessary for Xenon contained within the headlight housing or is there other wiring necessary outside of the housing? The reason I am asking is that I might be able to get my hands on a couple of intact Xenon headlight housings but was wondering if there was more to it such as having to add relays or other stuff. I know on most cars, you have to do a lot but most don't have the types of housing Porsche uses.
