Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I also checked for blown fuse (although there is no specific fuse for the front fog lights listed).

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hello, I recently got an 06 boxster base model with very low milage and in great condition. I noticed that the front fog lights (not the parking lights, the H8 bulbs) were not coming on when the light switch is pulled. I replaced the bulbs and still nothing. I also checked for blown fuse (although there is no specific fuse for the front fog lights listed). I now suspect either the switch, or possibly programming changes. I live in Canada, but the car was imported by the previous owner from the US. As many know, Canada requires imported cars to have DRL, so I assume the previous owner made the required modifications to make the car legal in Canada. From my limited search it seems that this was likely achieved through programming changes. My question for those familiar with programming: is it possible that the fog lights were disabled when the DRL were activated? Is this possible? Any suggestions on how to check? Any other possibilities as to why my fog lights will not come on? TIA!

POST 2Original post

Yes, you are correct. My car was bought in CA originally, taken to Canada, then brought back. I got it with the DRL activated. I used a foxwell programmer, with the porsche software installed, to turn them back to US speck. Amazon . It's a simple procedure, it will ask what country the car is in (does this vehicle require DRL in the country you are in?) Yes or No and presto.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
