Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was driving the other day and the CEL and the Brake WEar came on at the same time. Now i would think that they are related? but if there is a Brake Wear light why would they need to have it trigger CEL? does anyone know if Brake Wear will light the CEL? im going to bring it to autozone tomorrow and have them read and clear the codes. but some advanced knowledge is always good. Either way guess its time for some new pads possibly REDSTUFF ?

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

so the brake wear apparently cannot trip the CEL. it is running fine and it is a solid CEL not blinking. Autozone no longer (at least here) wont check the codes and the porsche dealer wants me to bring it in for an inspection... any ideas where to get the codes read at? dealer mechanics advise was just to drive it and see if it goes away...

POST 3Original post

Go back to AutoZone and buy the code reader. I gave $60 for a Actron CP9125. That's cheaper than walking in the front door of the dealer. And it works on all cars (after 1996).

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks i think i will do just that
