I think the only issue is when they under warranty Porsche don't like non OEM items and you would have to buy a Porsche battery for twice the price to keep within warranty.

Yes, as above a Bosch S5 will have a five year guarantee but obviously you will pay a bit more over a S4 /S3 et cetera or other make. I think Exide are still a decent make and Yuasa also offer a five year guarantee and are cheaper than Bosch. Is yours on trickle/ maintenance charger ? If not maye try that. They have solatr powered ones although I am unsure of their efficacy. Pip
