Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I fitted an longer pipe inside the rubber pipe to cover where the hole was, I poured water on the roof again and the leak had gone.

The car went to Srasse in Leeds a couple of years ago and all the cables etc were replaced and, the roof does function well but, it leaks like a pig from somewhere on the drivers side leading edge.

Suggestion
Does the car sit on level ground, as it could be leaking around the centre but running forwards.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I’m just trying to get myself for the next issue on the car - the yards roof leaking!!
The car went to Srasse in Leeds a couple of years ago and all the cables etc were replaced and, the roof does function well but, it leaks like a pig from somewhere on the drivers side leading edge.
During the bad weather a few weeks ago, when the car was just parked on the drivers side leading and not actually being driven, the leak appeared to be in close proximity to the drivers ‘A’ pillar as it’s running in and dripping off the sun visor.
More importantly, it’s not a little leak, it’s quite profuse!
I’m having to put some plastic pots on the seats to collect the water! The sponge is to stop the water splashing when it hits the pot….
There’s nothing obvious as to the ingress so, before I start taking it apart and swearing profusely, any common/known issues to look at first?
There is a diagram online of the Targa drain pipes but at the moment I cannot find it, Ill have a more detailed search tomorrow.

Also have you spoken to Strasse, they are quite helpful and may assist if you had the work done there.
The car was level on the drive when the leak was first noticed. I haven't actually driven it in the rain yet, the leak was purely from being static.
I cant see anything obvious, raised trim or anything not aligned but, although the weather was bad for a couple of weeks before it got put in the unit it just seemed a large volume of water ingress?
I'll give Strasse a bell in the week and see if they can suggest anything but, unfortunately, I'm 400 miles away from them so I wont be able to pop in!!
I had to refix mine yesterday, I noticed last weekend my N/S back seat had water on it and the carpet underneath was wet. I poured a kettle of water on the roof yesterday and watched it leaking in from the centre drain again. On closer inspection I could see the drain pipe was blocked and there was a little hole in the rubber pipe. I fitted an longer pipe inside the rubber pipe to cover where the hole was, I poured water on the roof again and the leak had gone.
I think there are 6 drains, front, middle and rear, and on each side, the centre one is reasonable easy to get to if you pull the material away from the top.
Hi Infrasilver, I am at the same place in fixing this in my 2002 Targa. The bit I cannot find out is does the slimmer hose that you inserted inside the black hose just hang there or is it attached to something inside the rail ?
thank you, I will do the same today. I found that short clear hose piece down at the bottom of the drain channel at pillar C where it connects to the drain hose so I guess it had dislodged and washed down there causing a blockage in my case. Ill replace it with a longer piece that is less likely to dislodge on its own and hope that works for me. appreciate the quick reply on an old thread
I added the "yellowed" bit of pipe as I felt the black pipe had shrunk slightly and was letting water drip onto the plastic liner rather than down the drain tube, the extension piece took it down the drain.
Thanks for the information, I have a leak as described, but I am struggling to release the cloth curtains so that I can get to the pipe etc. Is there a technique to releasing the clip that holds the curtains in place?
