So today I took the seat out and checked the alarm unit but it appears fine, dry and no evidence of longer term damage

Although there is some evidence of past dampness, yesterday because the frunk light always stays on I cleaned the frunk lock, cleaned and tested the micro switch

Probably irrelevant to you, but I get a beep when locking after changing the radio, there’s a connection on the side of it that needs insulating

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

2 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

It’s still not right, but it’s better than it was - which is about right whilst the weather prevents too much outdoors maintenance and repair

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Two horn beeps when locking, but doesn’t lock, second press of the key lock button it locks and no horn beeps. Okay just to add to chaos of beeping alarm issues here. My issue as described in the thread title, follows a replacement drivers door lock which resolved the window not dropping when closing the door, I’ve had some damp in the cabin which I’ve now resolved, but this two beep not locking and then locking on second press is new. I’ve scanned with iCarsoft and get these faults; Passenger/driver side release stuck. Central locking synchronisation unsuccessful after lock. Central locking limit position safe lock not reached, switch position implausible. I’m assuming it might be good to check for damp in the central locking unit and or take a hairdryer to the central console and glove box micro switches to make sure they are dry too. But I’d appreciate any other thoughts too

POST 2Original post

Are your window drops working as they should? Also, are the interior lights going out when you shut you doors and then coming on when you pull the handle and the windows drop (before you actually pull it hard enough to unlock the mechanism)?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quotes source post: 2786623

Yes, to all 3 the windows drop and close appropriately, the lights go out and then come when I lift the handle but don’t open the door, although there is no working light in the glove box and one of the struts for the glove box is missing

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Rescanning now and the only faults are with the targa top, all alarm faults are gone. Can a hair dryer really be the solution?

POST 7Original post

Need to investigate where the moisture is coming from that the handy hair dryer dried out.

Check the bottom of the door card or sunroof drains (if you have one)

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So I’m still getting a fault from my alarm unit So today I took the seat out and checked the alarm unit but it appears fine, dry and no evidence of longer term damage Although there is some evidence of past dampness, yesterday because the frunk light always stays on I cleaned the frunk lock, cleaned and tested the micro switch And just for good measure I did the same with the engine bay lock and micro switch, but still have a single hoot on locking and double hoot on unlocking. The central console is out so the single hoot could be that, the glove box is out and I’ve tape the micro switch closed, but I’m not sure what to do next, any ideas?

Thanks, it’s the original radio, but I’ve had it in and out a few times so it’s worth checking
