Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

How many of you have had the air bag warning light on the dash come on and stay on? I've had the dealer scan the computer on my 01 996 TT, they traced it to a faulty drivers side seat belt buckle. Unfortunately after a few weeks the air bag warning light appears again. I've read that besides the seat belt fix the root of the promblem is really the wire harness under the seat. Other than taping over the light, do any of you have a permanent fix to stop the annoying air bag warning light from appearing again. Thanks Victor

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone with photos documenting the harness fix? Thanks.

POST 4Original post

photos really dont do much. What you are doing is changing the connector and splicing in a new ground.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the reply J but was hoping for more of a comprehensive fix from someone with hands experience willing to share their R&D. For those who need more of a background on this early 996 annoyance refer to http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=10368
