Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Although, I've already popped out the alternator to replace the voltage regulator due to a low 11V output when the engine was hot.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everyone, Thanks for all the help with picking out out my Porsche. After MUCH looking, reading, learning, deliberating, discussing, oooing, ahhhing, pausing, praying, and finally deciding, I'm now the proud owner of my first Porsche! And it has quickly become my most favorite car I've ever had. I LOVE this car! So fun to drive, and get's lots of attention (which I need to get used to!) It's a 2001 C4 with factory aero kit, 49k miles, some decent options, and SUPER clean. The only thing missing is the new car smell. And I can buy that. So here are some picts to share of my new ride. Thanks again everyone! I'll be a frequent player on this board, hopefully. Mostly learning and asking at first, but hopefully able to help more folks as I learn more. Although, I've already popped out the alternator to replace the voltage regulator due to a low 11V output when the engine was hot. New reg should fix it right up! Thanks Mark!!! ( http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?t=408495 ) Why is it that almost everything I own ends up having an electrical problem? Ironic that I'm an Electrical Engineer. Hmm, maybe all the machines just knowwwwww.

POST 3Original post

Very nice car. I bought a 2001 996 about two months ago. Black/black coupe. The yellow is cool, cannot go unoticed. So far a few minor problems here. The fuel filler door actuator seems to have malfunctioned and the drivers door window doesn't drop much when the door handle is pulled. It had 21K miles and the price seemed reasonable. Fun car though, enjoy~!

POST 4Original post

WOW! The car looks fantastic. Like I said in the PM, I'm glad the write-up helped. I put your regulator in the mail today and you should have it in a few days. Hopefully you'll be back on the road again by next weekend.
