I've used Swiss Wax plastic preserver and the usually Halfords products but want to try a different proctor.

I just used WD40 and wire wool on my arch liners and undertrays to get the tar off and leave a mild lustre, but sure it soon washed off.

Suggestion
im gonna over coat the koch chemie with polytrol - just on a test sample to see if it bonds but i do prefer the koch stuff for ease and it does last pretty well - arches and under trays have had their first coats.

I’ve used ACF50 for years on this kinda thing, maybe it’s considered old hat now, there’s loads of specific products out there things have probably moved on
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Now getting the car back together after the winter cleaning and suspension change. Please will you recommend what product to use on the undertrays.
I've used Swiss Wax plastic preserver and the usually Halfords products but want to try a different proctor. Thoughts on using BiltHamber?
Any other suggestions.

PS i love bilt hamber stuff but this is terrific
Wow, didn’t know this was a thing, surely first drive out destroys all that good work!
I’ve recently replaced my under trays with new ones from my local OPC, blO0dy expensive.
Is cleaning them purely a cosmetic thing or does it offer any protection?

The only plastic treatment I've found that works AND lasts is Polytrol. It's a brush on, wipe off deal that needs to be done carefully to get a smooth even finish, but to be be fair, 12 months later on my daughter's Mini wheel arches which had bleached white and blotchy, it's still looking great. I only found it by searching and reading subsequent reviews. Warning, it stinks, is messy and not a user friendly product like most valeting products - but it works.

Lots of other 'detailing' products out there that work, are easier to apply and look great for a while, but I've not come across one that lasts more than a couple of months at best.
And don’t leave it on too long before wiping off - it’s gets sticky and horrible as I found out!
Great stuff for scuttle plastics and trim, gives a long lasting finish

+1 for Polytrol. I got some a few years ago to do the black plastic bumpers and arch trims on my X5 was extremely impressed. Easy to apply and buff off and last at least a year. Works a treat on the 996 scuttle trim under the wipers and the door mirror triangle trim (and patio furniture and anything plastic or painted that is not too light in colour). I just used WD40 and wire wool on my arch liners and undertrays to get the tar off and leave a mild lustre, but sure it soon washed off.
I was replacing damaged undertrays yesterday. Are the studs that they attach to replaceable? Mine are pretty much corroded and on their last legs. I didn't know cleaning undertrays was a thing!
