Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

With the hub off just check the wheel bearing too.

You'll only need the geo doing if you remove the coffin and control arms using the eccentric bolts.

how long is this job and I presume using a Jack and axle stands it can be done, this will probably be the biggest job I will have attempted if I do have a go.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I’ve started a new thread from my speed sensor post from earlier.
Had the usual abs/psm failure, ordered a new speed sensor. All drilled out, however it seems it’s the reluctor ring that is the issue as it is loose. It can be spun from inside the sensor hole.
Any ideas how to swap out the ring, is it a home job or should I take to my indie?
If I do take it to my indie Can I drive it with no sensor in place? Should I plug the hole where the sensor goes?
@Alex
has responded to the previous thread but I thought it worth posting a new one for anyone else in a similar predicament
Not with a Porsche but I did do my old Mercedes last month , both sides on the rear so driveshafts have to be pulled out the hub , slog of a job but now working perfect and no warnings. £7 for the ring. I didn't change the sensors , they looked perfect at 20yrs old.
You might have to get the geo done on the Porsche, but I don't know for sure.
You'll only need the geo doing if you remove the coffin and control arms using the eccentric bolts. If you remove them from the hub end (the tapers) then they'll go back in the same place. Tops can be removed from either end. Should then be able to swing the hub carrier out and the driveshaft drop down.
I’m pretty handy with a spanner, but I’m not a young man anymore, it’s booked in for the 19th to have the reluctor ring done along with investigating the potential fuel pump issue,- different thread.
If I leave it until the 19th it will mean I miss a drive out to Rennsport where a group of us will be going on the 11th, I think there is about 20 cars in total via PCGB, don’t really want to miss it.

Thoughts?
Have a go yourself, do it how Alex describes it above, it's not bad, if you can't do it at least you have it booked in. Just remember to undo the drive shaft nut with the car on the ground first you'll need a piece of scaffold bar or a big breaker bar as leverage to loosen it.
The ring is a tight fit. When my mechanic did mine he heated the ring up first with his torch to expand the diameter. If you don't have a torch or heat gun and struggling to get it on, put in the oven at max temp for a while. Don't burn your paws.
I did my old car when I did all the suspension components. Didn't remove the hub, was able to pull it out enough to release the drive shaft. Also was able to tap the new ring on without heating it up. It's a DIY job if you are happy to get stuck in.
