Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, I was looking at taking my 3.4 C4 out on a track day next week at Bedford, having been there several times with my old Focus ST I am keen to explore the capabilities of Porsche in comparison. However, before I pull the trigger on booking I had a query about noise levels. My car has designtek sports mufflers which sound great, but I am concerned they may be too loud for Bedford. Does anyone else have experience of running this exhaust (standard cats) on track and know what the noise levels measured? Many thanks Mark

POST 2Original post

the problem with noise testing is the reading can be literally all over the place assume it will tested at least 4k rpm ? Drive by is not an issue, it's just that static test The static noise limit at Bedford Autodrome is 101dB(A) and the drive-by limit is 87.5dB(A). On a Bedford Autodrome track day, all vehicles must pass the static noise limit to be permitted on the track. I've seen enough 996's et al on there to assume it should be fine, worth getting a portable noise meter

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the response, just seen a couple of videos on YouTube of 996s with sports exhausts in there so will probably be fine….

POST 4Original post

If your not too far away I would turn up to the next track day and ask if you can be sound checked just to make sure your ok. That's what I did at Caldwell and got 102db static.

POST 5Original post

I've recently done Bedford with miltek sports exhaust and was probably one of the quietest cars there! Standard cats, resonator delete.
