Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Guys
Has anyone removed the rear subframe on a 1997 porsche 996 carrera 2wd while the car is on axle stands? I don't have access to a lift currently and I would need to replace the left rear subframe and subframe crossmember while the car is on axle stands. Is this even possible?
if anyone has experience doing it on axle stands and you have tips or things to look out for then feel free to share. Nice to know it's possible thanks to Hooner
make sure to undo the drive shaft nuts in the hub centre first with the car on the ground, and dont' block access to any of the cross member bolts with the axle stands use blocks of wood if needed. Get a breaker bar and a piece of scaffold tube to leaver the bolts are tight.
I have when I went and snapped my subframe. Bit of messing about swapping stuff around when lifting as you'll need to put the axle stand on the jacking point. Always have a redundancy plan in place incase it comes off the axle stand (like a few blocks of wood under part of it too.

I've had an annoying knock I've had for some time now coming from the rear RH side. There was quite an amount of play in the lower control arm/fork that supports the coffin arm so I replaced that last month. Toe arm was replaced a few months back and coffin arm around 4 years ago. It wasn't a bad knock but every now and again, especially braking down a steep hill with an uneven surface, you'd hear it.
Anyway, the other day at work I was having a nosey around for the umpteenth time and noticed that my coffin arm eccentric bolt looked like it'd been moving slightly. I went to tighten it up...
Alex
