Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
Personally I'd just undo it, clean the aluminium pipe to ensure you've a better surface to seal against, before popping the rubber pipe back on.
Leading evidence: 'Clean aluminium pipe' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean aluminium pipe' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
The above advice is spot on - clean the aluminium pipe as that can get a bit rotty.

If not, then clean the mating surfaces and re clamp.

Suggestion · Original poster
I really don't want to drop the coolant or replace any hoses/pipes.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi folks,
I have a very slow weap / leak from where the rubber hoses connect to the y-piece aluminium coolant pipes. No cracks or damage, it leaks around 10 drops per day.
Can i simply add another hose clamp? I really don't want to drop the coolant or replace any hoses/pipes. My gut says this has always leaked and i can ignore it...?!?
On the drawing; hoses 4,5,8 are leaking from the clamps, as shown in the photo.
Also, given that it's the original coolant system (it's the last thing on the car I haven't refreshed yet), what would a complete system likely cost from an Indy?
Yes you can just put a jubilee clip on. Personally I'd just undo it, clean the aluminium pipe to ensure you've a better surface to seal against, before popping the rubber pipe back on. Just try the new clip 1st though.....if it works, it works. If not, then clean the mating surfaces and re clamp.
2 hours labour for all new rads, hoses and pipes? i think the whole lot is aging out... rough parts cost? any "while you are in there" parts/costs?
Thanks Alex, as always!
had the same a year or so ago. The above advice is spot on - clean the aluminium pipe as that can get a bit rotty. and then use a jubilee. The only bit i struggled with was the clamp you have in your picture. its a rusty swine to get off so a proper hose clamp tool is well worth the few quid to save swearing.
I've stopped leaks like that in the past by moving the clip back along the pipe, then rotate the rubber pipe back and forth around the aluminium one once you've broken the stiction, then put the clamp back on in the exact same place.
Obviously do this with the engine cold and the coolant cap removed, and keep a bit of forward pressure on it to make sure it doesn't pop off!
