Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

-$8K when new, and apparently as much if not more to replace when they are worn.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I've read it's lighter, impervious to fade, and has longer life. But I havn't read how it compares to the conventional setup in terms of power and feel. Does Porsche claim any decreased braking distance or enhanced feedback?

POST 2Original post

I believe I have read from 997S owners that the PCCB's are only marginally better in performance than Iron discs, but that is because I believe the 997S's get Turbo brakes. I would have to imagine that compared to CaymanS/BoxsterS brakes they would be an improvement. The list of benefits is long: -Bigger rotors (more area) and presumably better performance -6-piston calipers up front -Ceramic rotors are 50% lighter than iron rotors -Better initial bite -Virtually no fade -Longer life -Minimal brake dust on wheel -Distinctive look The negatives are few but important: -$8K when new, and apparently as much if not more to replace when they are worn. -Some people hav ementioned that when discs are wet, initial brake performance is poor until discs are dried.

POST 3Original post

I believe base line performance is about the same or slightly better for the ceramics.....but we're talking about 1 or 2 feet off of astopping distance that is already world class. (going by Boxster S ratings) As FC said the most benefit comes from the lighter weight and fade resistance. For the street the stock brakes are fantastic and the most cost effective........if your overheating the stock brakes driving on the street you are dangerous to begin with. Track performance is a different matter though. If they were $2k - $3K I'dgive them a look........at $8k they don't even get a glance from me.

POST 4Original post

They cost way too much for the little performance.... Save the $8k and get a supercharger installed and eat Turbos for breakfast.
