Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

To the extent the US dollar exchange rate (vs the Euro specifically) is unchanged or possibly weakens, could we see a scenario whereby MSRP prices for new Porsches in the US rises much more sharply, and if so what will that mean for used Porsche values?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Does anyone have a strong/informed point of view regarding future prices/values for all Porsche's, let alone Cayman's? I ask simply because Porsche is known to hedge their US dollar exposure out as much as 3 years. For 2005, their hedges mean little need to raise prices to offset the weaker US dollar, but their hedges in coming years will not provide as much cushion. To the extent the US dollar exchange rate (vs the Euro specifically) is unchanged or possibly weakens, could we see a scenario whereby MSRP prices for new Porsches in the US rises much more sharply, and if so what will that mean for used Porsche values? And how would this influence your order selection today?

POST 2Original post

I concur that although Porsche raised prices across the board somewhat for 2006 that future models are more likely to see more significant price hikes. I was talking to a financial advisor the other day and he sees no way that we will be able to avoid an inflationary period given the current economic situation, gas prices, and republican white house. Will that support strong resale value? Hard to say, I think that's always driven by supply and demand. Take the Boxster for example, prices have plummeted much more so than say a same year model C4S because there are a lot fewer C4S's out there...
