Hi I need to replace my passenger side wing mirror motor. I either buy an alternative part (eg BMW E46) and modify as I've seen or buy a Porsche part. Pictures attached of my motor (8 pin connector), part number much appreciated.

996 624 047 00 or if you have full memory electric seats 996 624 048 00. But yes, breakers. Douglas Valley (Steve Strange on eBay) are good but also 9-apart, Status Porsche, Porsche Heaven, Stuttgart spares and it is the same part on a 986 as well so a bigger field to choose from.

So what I ended up doing is buying a Jag XJR motor secondhand for £14, modifying the tracking. Not as neat as I had hoped - need to get myself a desoldering tool...! Tested tracking with a multimeter - it worked Picture 1 shows the Porsche and Jag motors as original, Picture 2 shows the Jag motor modified. The last thing I did was re-use the Porsche mounting sleeves as the Jag sleeves were a different length Picture 3. Reassembled the wing mirror motor and now I have a working mirror".
