Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I used my Milwaukee impact wrench on a low setting and they came off with no problem.

For me last year was : "shock absorbers serviced, wing hydraulics serviced, Change spark plugs, fit 1bar turbo waste gates, fit 5 bar FPR, zip tie boost hose connections, Change clutch slave accumulator, Fix intermittent issue with right headlight, Clean front radiators, Standard yearly service : Clean air filter, Oil change, oil filter, cabin filter,"
Leading evidence: 'Use milwaukee impact wrench' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Clean air filter, oil' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I used my hand socket for the bolts holding the bushes / alloy brackets but firstly clean off the rear end of the thread if protruding and use a wire brush on the thread.

Fit a 997 GT3 brake master cylinder (need to figure out pipe diameter changes/adapters)
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Every year I more or less take the car off the road for the winter. Or at least I do bigger maintenance jobs and accept that I won't have the car always available.
I know that Mark Vine does the same, as he detailed in his great thread :
The winter work continues into the 4th year of ownership.
What work do other people have lined up?
For me last year was : "shock absorbers serviced, wing hydraulics serviced, Change spark plugs, fit 1bar turbo waste gates, fit 5 bar FPR, zip tie boost hose connections, Change clutch slave accumulator, Fix intermittent issue with right headlight, Clean front radiators, Standard yearly service : Clean air filter, Oil change, oil filter, cabin filter,"
This years plan (so far) : Standard yearly service, fit 10% softer rear main spings, Track down the leak(s) in the boost hoses (smoke leak tester bought), fuel pressure test, get Markski tune loaded and working, track down annoying rattle in front suspension, get the seat backs wrapped in body colour, find a cheap / tatty center console and have it finished in bodycolour.
my mission is to do the wheel arches - i am documenting this but its not that exciting (deep clean, powder coat brackets, loads of waxes, rust treatment etc etc, brake shields, ceramic coat wheels and C4 protection to arch liners) but we already have mission creep so now the brake calipers are getting fully refurbed by BCR and no doubt when they go back on i will end up talking about braided hoses...............also doing a few bits underneath the car, some clips missing, front splitter thing needed adjustment and will also take off the exhaust tips for a full professional polish up. My abilities are limiting but can fettle the life out of stuff if it stays stationery for long enough - i will also remove and refit the undertrays for no reason than to have a little look see what condition things are in and see if i can improve/protect anything else while she is up in the air.
lol - hang about in here long enough and your list will grow to a silly size
Only one thing to coat wheels in my book - Gtechniq C5 wheel armour - works fabulous - but my fuchs are ones that have the ridged barrels in them so doing the inner barrels is a bit of a futile job, although it will be done! A kit which has the coating, panel wipe and three cloths is about £48 ish and thats a 30ml bottle which should do faces and barrels.
Remove and replace my old shocks and springs for new ones
Remove the rear brake calipers, replace all the seals, repaint, fit braided lines (fronts already done this summer)
Fit a 997 GT3 brake master cylinder (need to figure out pipe diameter changes/adapters)
Remove anti-roll bars and get stripped and send off for powder coating
All whilst parenting a 1-year old, renovating my Victorian house (the housing equivalent of a 996), oh and a full-time job
No idea, not done it before
Yes the lower ARBs. Will replace the bushes too.
A lot of this stuff I’m muddling my way through and finding out the hard way. I don’t expect them to come off easily as there’s 24 years of rust.
im in the same boat - usually stood at the back looking back towards land wondering why the f*** i got on this boat!
got my 993 up in the air and thought about dropping the arb, bit of fresh powder coat and some new rubbers. I have an ex F1 tech popping over Sunday to rip out the calipers for refurb so will be tapping his knowledge bank up before i get started......................

All new fluid going back in.
ARB's - just done mine. Put plenty of plus gas or equivalent on the day / night before. I used my Milwaukee impact wrench on a low setting and they came off with no problem. I used my hand socket for the bolts holding the bushes / alloy brackets but firstly clean off the rear end of the thread if protruding and use a wire brush on the thread. It stops you knackering up the thread when extracting. Be confident.
I removed and refurbed my calipers, they are pretty easy to remove provided the flexible brake pipes have not seized in them. If they have you should be able to cut the pipes to remove from the car and then I think BCS may be able to remove/rethread them for you.
Also on mine the metal rods which hold the pads in place had seized so I had to smash them out with a mallet and metal punch.
