Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I just replaced nearly all of my suspension on my 2002 with 130k.
Leading evidence: 'Replace nearly all of my suspension' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'cheapest route' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace nearly all of my suspension' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Suggestion
Replacing the struts with OEM B4s is perfectly acceptable it is the same as the Porsche part but likely yellow instead of black.

Suggestion
You can replace your struts without replacing the springs - as long as you don't have a broken/deformed spring - you'll get yourself back to near stock performance - AS LONG as there isn't something else wrong.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My 2004 C2 coupe (~137K mis.) has the original struts & springs and has become utterly miserable to drive. I can feel every bump. I am interested in returning it to something similar the factory ride, without lowering the ride height, or having a rigid feel to the ride. So, here's a few questions: is the problem ordinary one of worn springs, struts or both? I've had the car most of it's life and the original stance remains unchanged -- so could I just swap out the present struts for say new B4 struts, reusing the springs? Factory springs are really expensive, and seem to vary in part numbers and prices based on year model, body type, etc. Is there an aftermarket option that approximates the original ride? I notice that virtually all aftermarket springs are designed for lowering. Thanks in advance for your response.
I just replaced nearly all of my suspension on my 2002 with 130k. Same thing, the suspension was almost surely all original.
I opted for factory B4's and reusing the stock springs. The car sits right & rides amazing with the new suspension. I would say you're safe reusing the factory springs.
I like things stock, but after going to a porsche show recently, I kinda wished I would have lowered my car a lil.
In fairness, that thought lasted me about 5 seconds and I would have hated spending the extra cash on new springs.
Factory B4's, re-use your old springs & you'll be find in my opinion.
Just replacing all the worn bits will make a remarkable difference. Leaving everything at US spec heights won't change that. HOWEVER, since you're already spending all of that money there is the US spec M030 to consider, as well as the RoW M030. Neither one slams the car, and either one will provide some handling goodness as well as a bit of eye candy.
OP - I believe RoW M030 dampers and springs would make you very happy. An Eibach rear sway (less $$$ than M030 bars) would help reduce the understeer our cars are designed with.

Your suspension is more than just struts and springs. You have ten control arms in the back and four in the front - not including the four tie rods, bushings, etc.. Every link & connection is important to the quality of the ride. Even if your suspension is tired, you should not be hating it. Recommend you get under there and see if you can figure out the problem or pay a suspension shop for an inspection. One hour on the lift will likely save you a lot of money in the long run.
You can replace your struts without replacing the springs - as long as you don't have a broken/deformed spring - you'll get yourself back to near stock performance - AS LONG as there isn't something else wrong. This assumes you also replace the bump stops and other small parts in the strut assembly.
Replacing the struts with OEM B4s is perfectly acceptable it is the same as the Porsche part but likely yellow instead of black. And most likely the cheapest route. I use FCP Euro for this kind of stuff. They have great prices and their system is pretty fool proof, plug in your car type and type in suspension. It'll find you good options.
But, AGAIN, you need to find out what is making you miserable first and make sure you take care of that.
