Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I replaced the battery and initially it worked fine and the red led flashed as normal, but the next day it had stopped working.
One of my remote key fobs has stopped working. Other fob is fine, so I'm pretty sure it is the fob and not the receiver. I replaced the battery and initially it worked fine and the red led flashed as normal, but the next day it had stopped working. Tried another battery and same thing happened. Battery voltage has dropped to 2.6 volts, not sure if this is significant. I suspect that there is a drain due to a circuit fault.
Has anyone experience of any of the repair shops. I have come across 2 on the Internet. Autotronice is nearby, Remote Key Repairs seem to offer a comprehensive service. Does the fob need reprogramming after repair?

Hi Don
Have a look at this -

It may be your issue if it is dodgy switches. If it is a repair like that the fob will not need reprogrammed.

The procedure for reversing the coin battery in the remote was covered in a Porsche technical bulletin. Doing this re-starts the processor on the circuit board.
Hope this helps. After battery and micro switch fault eliminated try this. I had a similar experience with 2of 986 booster keys. Ultimately traced the fault to dodgy solder connections on the integrated circuits underneath the battery holder. Under a 20x microscope I could move several of the pins with tweezers, the cause of the intermittent fault. As I already had micro soldering experience and equipment from a hobby repairing iPhones I repaired the IC chip pins on both keys and saved £410, Porsche dealer quite. Good luck.
nb this is my first post, hope it's ok?
